Former NYPD Detective, Daniel Laperuta, was recently charged with falsely reporting an incident, criminal impersonation, and robbery after an occurrence involving rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine. Todd Cushner of Todd Cushner & Associates, P.C. was retained to represent Laperuta.
During the incident in question, a motorist turned paparazzi took a cell-phone video of Tekashi, after which Tekashi’s entourage and Laperuta allegedly pursued the motorist in attempt to have the unsolicited video removed. When asked about the motorist involved in the incident, Todd Cushner said, “He [the motorist] was going to assault Tekashi, or he was in the process of assaulting Tekashi.”
